Our Commitment to Privacy

Mac Analyser is built with a privacy-first architecture. All system monitoring, battery analytics, storage analysis, and AI token tracking happens entirely on your Mac. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on external servers.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • System performance metrics (CPU, RAM, disk, battery)
  • File paths, file names, or file contents
  • Installed application lists
  • API keys or OAuth tokens
  • AI provider usage data or spending information
  • Browser cache data or browsing history
  • Cloud storage usage or file information
  • Personal identifiers, device IDs, or analytics

Local Data Storage

All data generated by Mac Analyser is stored locally on your Mac using the following mechanisms:

  • macOS Keychain — API keys and OAuth tokens are stored securely in your system Keychain, encrypted by macOS.
  • SwiftData — Battery history, system snapshots, and usage records are persisted locally using Apple's SwiftData framework.
  • UserDefaults — Lightweight app preferences (polling interval, display settings) are stored in standard macOS preferences.

API Key Usage

When you add API keys for AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI, etc.), Mac Analyser uses these keys solely to query each provider's usage/billing API to display your token usage and costs. API keys are stored in macOS Keychain and are never transmitted to any server other than the respective AI provider's official API endpoint.

Cloud Storage Connections

OAuth tokens for cloud storage providers (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive) are stored in macOS Keychain. Mac Analyser only requests read permissions to display your storage usage. It does not read, modify, or download your files.

In-App Purchases

Subscriptions and lifetime purchases are processed entirely through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Mac Analyser does not handle, store, or have access to your payment information.

Third-Party Services

Mac Analyser does not integrate any third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs. The only external network requests are:

  • AI provider API calls (only when you configure API keys)
  • Cloud storage OAuth flows (only when you connect a service)
  • Apple StoreKit for subscription verification

Data Deletion

Uninstalling Mac Analyser removes all locally stored data. You can also clear individual data stores from within the app settings. Keychain entries can be managed through macOS Keychain Access.
